Enlisting band mates Rob Wise and Brett Rizzo from his punk rock days (the previous year!), Doug rounded out his new three piece band.  Recording the Album "Buddy Love" in the fall and winter of 1981 which upon release got high praise from Ira Robbins of Power POP magazine The Transoceanic Trouser Press.  Unfortunately this version of the band also did not last long and again Doug was left high and dry without a band in 1983.
